Workout #143 of 2012 ~ Crunch: Chisel

If you are looking for a quick workout that will get you sweating and work your arms until they are absolute jelly... Well, I found the workout for you: Crunch: Chisel.  I recently downloaded it off of iTunes (I think I bought the season of 8 20-minute workouts for $14.99) and felt motivated to try it today.  Wow, my shoulders, arms, upper back, abs and even my legs (a little bit) feel thoroughly worked out.  It was fun--the instructor made most of the reps into dance moves--and by the end, I had trouble finishing.  My arms felt so much like jelly that I wanted to cheat my way through the end--BUT I DIDN'T!

I have felt so blah since returning from vacation and am about to head out again.  I think my wonderful hubby will be understanding when I need to sneak off to workout each day.  It puts me in a better mood and makes me more inclined to make good choices food wise.

Workout #142 ~ C25K

Well I'm hurting!  C25K Week 5 Day 3 is a KILLER!  You have your 5 minute warm-up, a 9 minute run (which I went between 6-6.5mph), 2 minutes walking, 5 minutes running (I had to drop down to 5mph for part of it), 2 minutes walking, 2 minutes running and a 5 minute cool down.

It probably was particularly hard seeing as how I have not done a typical workout for over a week.  The next workout looks impossible (2 9-minute runs) so it will definitely be at least a few days before I try it.  I may need to stay at this workout for awhile...  Is it just me or does it seem like the C25K eases you in and then expects you to jump up levels?

Workout 141 - Walking around Sea World

Walking back and forth and back and forth at Sea World, carrying a toddler part of the time, was a good workout.  Naturally, the order in which we attended the shows was not logical and none was on the way to the next.  However, it was soooo much fun!  I'll gladly walk all over Sea World any day to get to see all the shows--they are fun no matter how old you are!

70% Done! Workout #140 of 2012 ~ Pilates

My core has always been a trouble zone, so in preparation for our vacation (which starts tomorrow), I have been doing a lot of core work.  The good news is that I am taking my workouts with me on my phone in case I feel motivated to exercise this next week.  If not, no big deal!

I can't believe I am 70% of the way to my goal!  That's a passing grade in teacher talk :).  A year ago, I had completed 58 workouts at this point.  That means in the last 12 months, I have completed 182 workouts.  That's pretty cool.  I can't wait until I can say I've completed 200 in 12 months, though the ultimate goal is 200 in this year--and it's gonna happen! :)

Workout #139 of 2012 ~ C25K

I just did week 5 day 2 and it was a little bit challenging.  Those 6-minute runs are killer.  I was watching Country Strong and the pace of the songs did not lend well to a 6mph pace.  I think I need to start listening to upbeat music while I run instead of watching TV.  I'll give that a try next week when I run again (hopefully on Monday--I'm taking my workout clothes on vacation).

Workout 138 of 2012 ~ Total Body Pilates

I was bored and had some time to kill so I decided to do Total Body Pilates.  This is a rare afternoon where both kids are calmly entertaining themselves so I did not have any distractions.  After doing yoga and pilates, my body feels pretty awesome and I am geared up to do the 30 Day Shred when we get home from swim lessons :).

I am loving my love for working out these days :).

Workout #137 ~ 10 Pound Slimdown Yoga

Let me just say, my arms feel like jelly.  This workout is challenging, but I LOVE IT!  I am trying to get in as many workouts as possible before leaving on vacation on Friday.  However, I am bringing workout clothes because the resort has a fancy gym that I know my stepdad has used.  Maybe I'll get up with him at 6 everyday to workout and get coffee!

Workout 136 of 2012 ~ Ripped in 30 Week 1

I'm trying to build up my leg muscles so that running is easier :)...  So, naturally, I'm on a Jillian Michaels kick.  Ripped in 30 Week 1 was not too bad though my knees and ankles are still a little put out by my last running session.  Hopefully they feel good enough to run on Thursday when I am hoping to run!

Workout 135 of 2012

After the pilates workout made me feel like my abs are lacking, I decided to do the first 3 circuits of No More Trouble Zones which includes the hardest ab circuit ever.  I felt redeemed!  While difficult, I could still keep up.

Workout 134 of 2012 - Pilates

My abs do not feel so strong these days which is VERY annoying.  The body roll-ups in Total Body Pilates are way harder and I feel they should be getting easier at this point.

Oh well.  Not gonna give up!

Workout 133 ~ C25K

Just did week 5, day 1 of the C25K program, and it was TOUGH!  My core is very stiff today so that made it all the more difficult to complete the workout.  Not to mention the fact that you run a total of 18 minutes in this workout and only walk 14.  I can feel some wear and tear on my knees and ankles so I am reworking my cardio plans for the next week to take it easy on them.  However, I fully intend to do week 5, day 2 on Thursday (the day before I leave on vacation).

Workout 132 ~ AM Yoga

After doing PM Yoga last night, I decided to finally try the AM Yoga workout before doing anything else this morning.  Well, I am definitely not someone who can workout without food in the system.  This 10-minute workout was hard when I had zero stamina.

On a positive note, my body does in fact feel more awake than usual and feels very stretched out and warmed up for the day.  So mission accomplished! :)

Now off to eat some breakfast!

Workout 131 of 2012 - PM Yoga

It has been a stressful day.  The kids have been at each other's throats and frankly we are all sick of each other.  It's tough spending 24/7 with the kids without Brady hear in the evenings.  I think we all could use a break from each other.  I remembered that the PM Yoga workout had some good stretching and was all about letting the day's stress go.  I certainly feel better having done it and discovered many places that are sore which the stretching definitely alleviated.

Maybe I'll begin tomorrow with the AM Yoga (if I remember when I first wake up).kk

Workout 130 of 2012

First I did the Day 1 strength workout from this program followed by 2.25 miles in 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I am feeling pretty awesome right now and look forward to some yoga later on today :).

Workout 129 of 2012 - 30 Day Shred Level 1

Tonight I decided to revisit the workout that changed my life.  I used to have to modify almost every cardio move Jillian Michaels incorporated but tonight, thanks to glucosamine chondroitin, I was able to do every single thing in the video.  It felt AWESOME!

The next several days are going to be 2-a-days.  I am still a few workouts behind from my year plan and we leave for a week vacation next Friday.  If I stick to my revised plan and workout once (I'm thinking walking around Sea World all day should count) on vacation then when I return, I'll be back on schedule.

Here's hoping I follow through!

Workout 128 of 2012 - C25K Week 4, Day 3

Well... I'm officially halfway through the couch-to-5K program!!!!  I'm so excited and proud of my progress!  I know it will take me longer than 4 more weeks to complete it but my deadline is October 6th when I plan to do my first 5K--which is also my 7 year wedding anniversary.  Too bad the hubs won't be here (he's about to deploy to Afghanistan).

Workout 127 of 2012 - Total Body Pilates

Just did Total Body Pilates.  My abs are KILLING ME from yesterday so it was a very tough workout.  I had to take some of the cheats she offered because my abs are revolting.

Workout 126 - 10 Pound Slimdown: Core

My core is feeling this workout big time!  It's amazing how 20 minutes of a variety of core exercises can make your middle feel like jelly!

Naturally I had like 50 interruptions during this workout--Kailee had to potty, Gavin and Kailee tried to kill each other, the phone rang, etc. etc.  But that's okay because the pause button works nicely and saves my spot :).

Workout 124 and 125 of 2012

Workout 124: Chasing children around a resort including carrying a toddler up 5 flights of stairs and carrying a different toddler back to the resort as she had a meltdown during the fireworks show.  I know it was a good workout because I went low during the night after all that.

Workout 125: Just did C25K Week 4 Day 2.  It was a little bit more manageable than Day 1, but it's definitely a lot tougher than week 3.  Gavin really wants to do a 5K with me this fall.  He is a marathon kid (he completed more than 26.2 miles in laps during the school year).  I need to find a way to start jogging with him to help him prepare...  This is gonna be hard in the Texas summer.  I need to find an indoor track...

Workout 123 ~ Ripped in 30 Week 1

We are on day 4 of potty training so whenever she says she has to go, we drop everything and go!  Well during my workout, she had 2 successful pees as well as a false alarm.  Since finishing, she's had 3 false alarms and I think it's because she actually needs to go #2 and doesn't yet know how to do it on the potty--we've had 2 on the floor this week, FUN!  So my 30 minute workout ended up taking closer to an hour with the interruptions but that's okay :).

I am glad to say that today's workout felt a lot better than it did last week despite being very sore today from yesterday's workout.  I'm feeling great and inspired to maybe get some pilates in during nap time!

Workout 122 of 2012 ~ 10 Pound Slimdown Total Body

I feel a little out of shape having not done much circuit training lately so I decided to do 10 Pound Slimdown Total Body with Chris Freytag.  My legs feel a little bit like jelly right now, but I took great pains to stretch out in order to prevent too much soreness.

I may do a little pilates in a bit.  Maybe right now since Kailee is taking a loooong nap. :)

Happy 4th!

Workout 121 of 2012 - C25K

Did the C25K Week 4 Day 1 workout and it was hard!  I am definitely feeling the effects of not hydrating properly the last two days as well as not working out as regularly the last few weeks.

But I'm back now! :)

XOXO,

Size 6 jeans? I think so!

A week ago I went shopping for shorts and ended up finding a deal on some 7 jeans at Ross.  The best part, they are a size 6!  Naturally I have already worn them 4 times despite the 100 degree heat because I'm so excited :).

Talk about great motivation to stay on track!

XOXO,

Workout 120 of 2012

On Saturday night, my cousin got married and we partied the night away!  Between wearing the world's most uncomfortable--albeit beautiful--shoes for 5 hours, I also danced for a solid 1.5 hours at least.  Thus, I'm counting it all as a workout :).

Today I will hopefully get in a regular workout though potty training makes it difficult to take a moment for myself.
