Workout 69 of 2011 (Burn it up Dance Cardio)

Tonight I had a tough time deciding just which workout I wanted to do on-demand. I decided I felt like dancing and this workout delivered. I am not coordinated but I was able to keep up with most of his moves--though undoubtably looking ridiculous. It was a lot of fun but a bit rough on the knees when Billy Blanks Jr decided to go old school with the bouncing up and down aerobics class moves in the third dance genre. When next he went onto the Jive, my knees and side stitch (I drank a lot of water right before the workout--I know, bad judgement call) made me call it quits. So I got through 35 of the 55-minute workout--not bad!

I would do this workout again for sure, though I may skip the old school segment so I can do the Jive and find out what's in store for the finale.

XOXO,

Workout 68 of 2011

I did 10-pound Slimdown Yoga.  It was a 20-minute workout and it definitely was VERY difficult for me.  I am pretty much inflexible but the upper body strength I've developed helped me get through it.

I liked some of the moves though I don't really feel like I'm a yoga person.

Workout 67 of 2011 (Power walk and abs)

I am soooooooooo sore today so I decided to focus more on cardio.  At first I planned to read on the elliptical but my Nook did not have enough power so I decided to go for a power walk.  I walked for 15 minutes before the amount of lightning in the distance got to me (my great grandmother's great grandmother's little sister died because she was sitting against a tree that was struck by lightning).  I came in and did some of my favorite ab moves from Jillian.  So a good 20 minute workout.

Hopefully I'll be less sore tomorrow!

Tip of the Week ~ Keep Coming Back!

Okay okay, I stole that line from Weight Watchers but it's a good one and I'm giving credit where credit is due!  I have been on a working out hiatus for over a month because I became completely burnt out and needed time to settle into the new school year.  I could beat myself up about it but what good does that do?  Negative reinforcement does not work on me!

So I took a break...  It's no big deal because I came back!  So if you need a break from working out, take it!  Just make sure you come back!

Have a great week!

Workout 66 of 2011 (Ripped in 30 Level 1)

I know I know, long time no see.  I had to take a break from working out.  Why?  Because I was burnt out.  However, I have not had as much energy lately and I know it's because I need my workouts!

So tonight I did Ripped in 30 Level 1.  I had to use 2 pound weights instead of 3 pound weights and had to do the modified versions of some of the exercises.  But I did it!  And that's what matters.  I gotta stay on track to meet my goal.  I came so close last year and didn't do it.  This year, I will reach 100 workouts!
